Organizational Consulting Services

“The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual”.

-Vince Lombardi

The Foundation

The foundation of a successful sports organization is its team players, and not just the ones competing on game day. For the athletes to excel, they need guidance from effective leaders and the support of the entire organization, from the front desk to the executive suites, from marketing and accounting to the trainers and coaches. Regardless of one’s position, every single person plays a vital role in the team’s success.

As clinicians trained in marriage and family therapy, we know what it takes to build strong relationships and connect around common goals to create a winning environment.  Success starts with solid relationships, relationships between the organization’s leaders, between managers and staff, between coaches and athletes, and of course, between teammates.

We believe that a system is greater than the sum of its parts. And we understand how the different parts of an organization need to fit together to create success. If it is a breakdown in trust or chronic conflict or some other issue impacting the group’s function, we will work with your organization to assess the problem and identify workable solutions.

And if there is a need to develop leadership for your team—business or athletic—we can assist by providing the coaching they need to better connect, motivate and communicate with others to get the needed results.

Consulting vs. Counseling

Consulting differs from therapy or counseling in that it is much more short term, lasting one to three sessions, or is established on an as-needed basis.

Consulting is also more directive and includes the sharing of advice and suggestions on ways to address a particular problem or issue. Unlike counseling or therapy, consulting does not involve mental health diagnoses and does not provide specialized therapeutic interventions. If during the consulting process a clinician thinks it would be beneficial or necessary to seek care from a mental health provider, an appropriate referral would be made.

Regardless what sport is played or the age of your organization, there is a story to tell. And the stories worth telling are written by those players who are committed to each other, the team and its shared values.
